Coconut Mounds Fudge Bars… really need I say more?

I have a sweet tooth if I don’t say so myself & let’s be real.. chocolate & coconut is a match made in heaven. This recipe is dangerously easy to make & I promise your taste buds will be praising you!  Featuring @navitasorganics cacao & cacao butter + nibs, @artisanaorganics coconut butter, & maple syrup this delicious treat is not only tasty but guilt free too.

One mounds bar has 230 calories, 10 grams of saturated fats, 21 grams of sugar, and 55 mg of sodium. Doesn’t sound too bad well heres the ingredients…

Corn syrup, semi-sweet chocolate (chocolate, sugar, cocoa, milk fat,cocoa butter, soy lecithin, PGPR, emulsifier, vanillin, artificial flavor, milk, coconut,sugar, contains 2% or less of: salt, natural and artificial vanilla flavor, hydrolyzedmilk protein, sodium metabisulfite.  

Corn syrup? The first ingredient? When you break down a “mounds bar” what is the main ingredients? ——- Chocolate & coconut ——–

Whats the need for all the others? 

I created these Coconut Mounds Fudge Bars to show that real food tastes

better then the processed stuff.

You will need:

3/4 cup coconut oil or cacao butter

1 cup coconut butter

3 tbsp maple syrup or honey

pinch pink himalayan salt

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 cup desiccated coconut

1/4 cup cacao nibs

To make:

In a food processor combine all ingredients.

Line a tray with parchment paper & add chocolate liquid evenly spread.

Sprinkle coconut & cacao nibs and put in the freezer for 1 hour to form.

Store in the refrigerator.
