Anti Anxiety Smoothie


Do you suffer from anxiety? Anxiety is often described as a feeling of worry, nervousness, or uneasiness. Studies are showing that rates of anxiety have been increasing especially in young people. Luckily there are many natural remedies for anxiety that are safe and don’t cause adverse side effects like so many anti-anxiety medications.

Of course, eating a clean and well balanced diet can immediately promote changes in mood, energy, and sleep patterns which can be affected by anxiety. As well as managing stress and doing things that relax you and trigger the parasympathetic state of the nervous system which can be unique to any individual.

Dietary wise, you’ll want to focus on important nutrients like B vitamins; magnesium, and omega 3’s. Additionally, there are specific herbs that can actually help and be just as effective as conventional methods when put to the test. One is lavender. Here is on of my favorite anti anxiety smoothies. The ingredients present can help ease stress, panic, and anxiety and bring about calm, happiness, and relaxation. The best part is it is mostly safe for kids too.

1/2 cup frozen wild blueberries

1/2 frozen banana

1 Tsp dried lavender

1 cup baby spinach (optional)

1/2 avocado (optional)

Plant based milk to desired thickness

Plant protein (optional)


This is one of my favorite recipes to make before an event, or whenever I may be feeling a bit anxious. Just the smell of the dried lavender immediately has me feeling relaxed, the taste is the next best part! . . . . .
