You will need:
-For the pear-
1 organic Bartlett pear
1 handful pecan pieces
1 tsp coconut sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
-For the porridge-
1/3 cup oats (I use Purely Elizabeth ancient grain oats)
2/3 cup macadamia milk, or other nut milk
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp maca powder
-Additional Toppings-
1 tbsp hemp seeds
To make:
1. Turn on the oven to 350 degrees F & slit open an organic Bartlett pear
2. Cut open the pear & scoop out a whole on eat side in the center.
3. Lightly sprayed the pears with coconut oil spray & fill them with chopped pecans.
4. Sprinkled a little cinnamon & coconut sugar on top.
5. Roast the pears at 350 for 20 minutes.
6. In the meantime, make the porridge base over the stove top by mixing oats (I use purely elizabeth ancient grain oats), macadamia nut milk, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and maca powder in a pot.
7. Let this simmer over medium low heat until it thickened stirring occasionally.
8. Topped the porridge with a half pear, more pecans, & some organic hemp seeds.
All of the spices I chose in this porridge have high post digestive temperatures which warm the body especially on a cold winter day.
